Services · Managed Websites

Four steps, start to finish.

Nothing to set up, nothing to learn, and nothing you need to remember to do later. Here is the whole of it, from the first sample to the change you email us next year.

What actually happens

  1. 01

    We build a sample.

From whatever you already have, or from scratch if you have nothing. Usually a day. You look at a real site, not a mockup or a slide.

  2. 02

    You tell us what's wrong.

Wrong hours, a missing service, a photo you'd rather use. We fix it and send it back.

  3. 03

It goes live on your domain.

Yours, registered in your name. We handle the certificate, the email forwarding, and the search listing.

  4. 04

You email us when something changes.

New service, new hours, hiring, work you're proud of. Within one business day, no charge for everyday changes, no ticket system.

Why there's no design fee

A design agency and a DIY builder both cost you something up front. Here's where the money and the time actually go.

Why there's no design fee
Design, before you decide

Agency — quoted and paid before work starts. DIY builder — you design it yourself. PageTend — built free, no obligation.

Upfront design cost

Agency typically $3,000–$8,000+. DIY builder $0, plus your evenings. PageTend $0.

Every month after

Agency hosting plus a separate care plan. DIY builder a subscription, and you still do the work. PageTend $99, everything included.

Who makes changes

Agency you pay per request. DIY builder you do. PageTend we do — unlimited, within one business day.

Most websites make people wait. Yours won't.

Every page we build is put together in advance and served from whichever data center is nearest the person looking at it. There's no server to wake up, no plugins to load, nothing to install first. The page is simply ready.

What most sites send
A template, and everything bolted onto it
  • A theme that ships code for features the business never uses
  • A row of plugins, each adding their own
  • Photos at full camera size, shrunk by the phone after it downloads them
1–3 MB
On a phone, away from wifi, that's the wait before anything appears at all.
What yours sends
The page, and very nearly nothing else
  • Built in advance — nothing is assembled while someone waits
  • Served from the closest of 300+ locations worldwide
  • Photos resized before they're sent, to the size actually shown
About 40 KB

Search engines

SEO is built in, not bolted on.

Nobody can honestly promise you first place on Google. What we can promise is that nothing about your site holds you back. Every site we build does all of this from the day it goes live, with nothing to install and nothing extra to pay.

  1. Fast on a phone

Google measures how quickly a page appears on a phone and counts it for you or against you. Ours are about 40 KB, served from the data center nearest the visitor.

  2. A real title on every page

Each page gets its own title and description naming what you do and where. They are the two lines people read in search results: "Roof repair in Naperville", never "Home".

  3. Your details in Google's own format

Name, address, phone, hours, service area and map location are written into every page in the structured format (schema.org) that Google and Maps read, so they never have to guess.

  4. Google is told about every page

Each site has a sitemap and a robots file, and we connect it to Google Search Console, so new pages are found quickly and any problem Google reports comes to us, not you.

  5. Ready for AI search

More people now ask ChatGPT, Gemini or Google's AI answers who to call. Every site lets those tools in, describes your business in the format they read, and carries a plain-language summary for them (llms.txt).

  6. One address per page

Every page is secure (https) and names its one official address, so Google never splits the credit between copies. Sites in two languages tell Google which version is which.

  7. A clear structure

One main heading per page, real text rather than words inside pictures, and a written description on every photo. It's what screen readers need, and it's exactly what search engines read.

  8. Looks right when shared

Text a link or post it on Facebook and it shows your photo, your name and a line about you, not a bare web address.

  9. Drafts stay out of search

Your sample site is hidden from Google until it goes live, so an unfinished draft never competes with the real thing.

  10. Your Google listing, too

For a local business the map listing matters as much as the website. Our Google Business Profile service keeps it accurate, complete and active. How that works.

Common questions

Do I need to log in anywhere?

No. That is the point. Send an email.

Who owns the domain?

You do. It is registered in your name and you can move it whenever.

What happens if I stop paying, or want to leave?

Your domain is registered in your name and goes with you. We send you every page of text and every photo. The design and the platform stay with us, and that is exactly why we don't charge you thousands of dollars for them up front.

Who is actually behind PageTend?

A small, real company, not a faceless platform. Our legal name and mailing address are on the privacy page. Every site is looked after by a person who answers email, not a ticket queue.

Can you use our photos?

Yes, and we would rather. Email them. Until then the site uses neutral placeholders, never photos taken from your social pages.

How many changes are included?

Unlimited small changes are included. If a request is really a new section or a new page, we will say so before doing it.

What do you do about SEO?

It's built into every site: fast pages, a proper title and description on each page, your business details in the format Google and Maps read, a sitemap connected to Google Search Console, and clean structure throughout. See the details. What nobody can honestly promise is first place, because that also depends on your reviews, your Google listing and how long you've been around. We look after the site and, with the add-on, the listing.

Do I still need Linktree?

No. Every site comes with a links page at yourdomain.com/links: your logo and colors, your order or booking button first, then every account you run, each with its own icon. Put it in your Instagram or TikTok bio. Because it's on your own domain, the people who tap it are already on your website.

What does it cost?

$99 a month for the managed website, with no design fee and no setup fee. See the pricing page for the full breakdown, including the Google Business Profile plans and the optional add-ons.
