About PageTend

Intelligent underneath. Simple on top.

We built serious technology so that a small business never has to think about its website again. You send an email. We handle the rest.

An email flows through a small network of software, is checked by software and, when it needs one, a person, and comes out as a finished, published web page

Why we started PageTend

Nearly every small business owner we talked to told us the same story. Someone built them a website a few years ago: a nephew, a freelancer, an agency, a long weekend with a website builder. It looked fine the day it went up.

Then the hours changed. A new service was added, the photos went stale, and nobody could remember the password. The freelancer moved on, the builder kept asking for upgrades, and a plugin update took the site down on a Saturday. Little by little the website fell behind the business, and the owner felt a small pang of guilt every time a customer mentioned it.

Owners don't want a website project. They want a website that's right. So we built a service where keeping it right is our job, not theirs, and the technology that makes that affordable for a business of any size.

What we believe

Your website should be the one thing you never have to think about.

Four principles behind every site we run.

  1. Simplicity

Your whole job is one email. No logins, no dashboards, no plugins, no website homework. If you can describe the change, it gets made.

  2. Intelligence, with a person behind it

Software does the busywork: reading your request, finding the right page, drafting the change and checking it on every screen size. Simple changes can go live straight away, behind those checks; anything larger or unclear goes to a person first, and a person is always one reply away.

  3. Reliability

Your site is served from a worldwide network, backed up off-site, and designed to keep working even if parts of our own system are down.

  4. Honesty

One monthly price. No design fee, no contract, and add-ons only when you ask. Your domain is registered in your name, and if you ever leave, it goes with you.

The technology

In plain English, here's what it does for you

  1. Fast everywhere

Pages are put together in a data center close to whoever is visiting, so they load in a blink, even on a phone in a parking lot.

  2. Nothing to break into

Your site has no admin login and no plugins. Most small-business website hacks start with one of those, and yours has neither.

  3. Every version kept

Every change is saved as a new version. If something ever looks wrong, we put the previous one back in minutes.

  4. Looked after, not just hosted

Certificates renewed, dead links fixed, photos kept light and fast. The small upkeep that quietly sinks most sites is on our list, not yours.

Our team

Small team, big impact.

No office, on purpose. PageTend is fully remote. Everyone works from home, or from wherever they do their best work, from Boston to San Francisco. No commute and no cubicle leaves more time for the work, and people who live where they want to tend to care more about what they make. No office rent also means more of what you pay goes into your site.
